Please don't stop printing or stop publishing The Living Bible, paraphrased. Also, there are some corrections needed, ie, Matthew 9:1-8 - boy or man - needed healed ? Be mindful it was the Holy Spirit that spoke & taught us. I was a missionary and now a local disabled person on a mission. Its purpose is to say as exactly as possible what the writers of the Scriptures meant, and to say it simply, expanding where necessary for a clear understanding by the modern reader. Many of my childhood friends went into ministry. The Living Bible is a paraphrase of the Old and New Testaments.

Thank You Lord for bring the right Bible to us at the right time. I still give used copies to New or immature Believers. So The Living Bible was a Great Source for us. Remember we didn't have much of a choice back in those days (1960-70s), mostly KJV which was boring for young people, as we tried to struggle through the language much less the meaning. Though it was a great starting point, as I matured spiritually, physically, mentally, it was easy for me to move on to greater Study Bibles (NASB) Translations.

I liked the way it spoke to me and my generation and still is relevant for today's teens. The bible text used in the NLT-CE is copyrighted in 2015. The text of the NLT was revised in 2004, with additional minor revisions in later years. Tyndale House published a Catholic Reference edition of the NLT in 2002, but that edition was never granted an imprimatur. I was in junior high (mid-school) and it was a great start for me to get into the Word of God. The revision was released in 1996 under the name New Living Translation. John 3:16 (TLB) For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.Around 1970, my great-aunt bought & brought a few gold-ish paperback copies to give to us.Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIrV) God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. He came to help, to put the world right again. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. John 3:16 (MSG) This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son.John 3:16 (GNT) For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.John 3:16 (NRSV) For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.John 3:16 (NLT) For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.John 3:16 (HCSB) For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.John 3:16 (NASB) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.John 3:16 (NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 3:16 (ESV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.John 3:16 (AMP) For God so loved and dearly prized the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.Paraphrase translations are use modern language and try to capture the thought or meaning behind the original text.Ĭompare Translations John 3:16 Formal Translations Thought for Thought (Dynamic Translations)ĭynamic translations are translated phrase by phrase and use contemporary language for ease of reading.
